On October 30, H.E. Ambassador Guo Haiyan met with Hon. Salim Mvurya, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports of Kenya. Principal Secretary for Sports Elijah Mwangi was present among other officials.

Ambassador Guo briefed the Cabinet Secretary the latest development of China-Kenya relations. She said that this year marks the Year of China-Africa People-to-People Exchanges, and China has jointly held a range of events with Kenya under this framework, drawing warm welcome from our two peoples. Ambassador Guo noted that youth affairs, creative economy and sports plays an important part in bilateral relations, and serve as bridges for fostering ties between the two sides. China stands ready to further expand cooperation with the Kenyan counterparts, further advancing the development of China-Kenya relationship.

CS Mvurya spoke highly of China-Kenya relations and expressed gratitude for China’s long-standing support in the area of youths, creative economy and sports. He affirmed his commitment to deepening exchanges with China and contributing to the partnership between the two nations.
