On August 12, the Drone Light Show of 2026 Thousands of Miles on the Silk Road · Colorful Africa was successfully held in Nairobi. Amb. Guo Haiyan, DG of Sports Kenya Mr.Timothy Kilimo, representatives of Chinese enterprises and the Chinese community in Kenya, as well as nearly 1,000 audience from all walks of life in Kenya attended the spectacular show.

With China-Kenya and China-Africa friendship and cooperation as its central theme, the show featured 500 drones that first formed the logo of the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges in the night sky. The performance then presented a series of iconic China-Kenya cooperation projects, including the SGR,Talanta Sports City Stadium andNairobi Expressway. Other dazzling images featured the Terracotta Warriors playing football, a cheetah transforming into a track-and-field athlete, as well as elements highlighting China’s zero-tariff policy, giant panda and Tian’anmen Square.The colorful and spectacular drone light show vividly showcased the deep friendship between China and Africa and the fruitful outcomes of China-Kenya cooperation. The performance was warmly welcomed and enthusiastically received by the audience.

The show was one of the sub events of the 2026 Thousands of Miles on the Silk Road·Colorful Africa, a key program under the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges. It was jointly organized by the Shaanxi Radio and Television Media Convergence Group Co., Ltd and the SportsKenya.
