On July 29, 2026, H.E Guo Haiyan, Ambassador of China to Kenya paid a courtesy call on Dr. Alfred Nganga Mutua, Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection.The two sides exchanged views on deepening practical cooperation in fields of labor and social protection, so as to further promote the well-being of people from both countries.

Ambassador Guo noted that numerous Chinese-funded enterprises in Kenya have created a large number of jobs and continuously conducted skills training, thereby contributing to the transfer of professional expertise, the exchanges of industry experience, and the upgrading of local production models. She stated that Chinese side consistently requires its enterprises in Kenya to abide by local laws and regulations, and at the same time attaches great importance to safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests. Chinese Embassy stands ready to conduct regular communication with Kenyan side for resolving labor disputes, so as to effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers from both countries, and jointly support the improvement of people's livelihoods in Kenya.

Dr. Mutua welcomed Ambassador Guo and spoke highly of the contributions made by Chinese-funded enterprises in job-creation and youth development in Kenya. He expressed willingness to strengthen policy alignment with China, advance the implementation of training programs, and jointly foster a harmonious labor-management environment.
