Ambassador Guo Haiyan Attends the 25th Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for College Students

  On April 30, Amb. Guo Haiyan attended and delivered an opening address for the 25th Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for College Students Kenya Division Finals. Over 300 guests attended the event, including Dr. Carol Hunja, Secretary for Higher Education and Research of Ministry of Education, Ag.VC of University of Nairobi, Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, Chinese Deans of Confucius Institutes in Kenya, representatives of Chinese and Kenyan media, representatives of the Chinese enterprises and the Chinese communities, and Kenyan university students.

  Amb. Guo noted that the “Chinese Bridge” has become a dream stage for Chinese language learners worldwide and a bridge connecting China with the rest of the world while witnessing the growth stories of generations of Kenyan youth forming bonds with China. China-Kenya relations has enjoyed sound development aiming to build the China-Kenya Community with a Shared Future for the New Era. Along with the exchanges and cooperation between China and Kenya flourishing across various fields,and more and more Chinese enterprises and key cooperation projects taking root in Kenya, interdisciplinary talents equipped with proficient Chinese and knowledge of the national conditions of both Kenya and China are increasingly in high demand. Learning Chinese means embracing opportunities. Amb.Guo welcome more Kenyan youths to learn Chinese, and devote themselves to the great cause of China-Kenya friendship.

  Dr. Hunja and Prof. Hutchinson commended China for the support of Chinese language education in Kenya and stated their willingness to work with Chinese side to promote the continued deepening and development of bilateral relations.
