Ambassador Guo Haiyan Meets with Governor Fernandes Barasa

  On January 15, H.E. Amb. Guo Haiyan met with Hon. Fernandes Barasa, Governor of Kakamega County. 

  Ambassador Guo said that 2026 is the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges. She expressed China’s willingness to actively implement the important consensus reached by the two Heads of State and the outcomes of President Ruto’s visit to China, to strengthen the subnational level cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, to further cement public support for China-Kenya and China-Africa friendship so as to better benefit the peoples of both sides.

  Governor Barasa expressed that Kakamega County attaches great importance to its friendly relations with China, noting that cooperation between the two sides enjoys a solid foundation and broad prospects in agriculture and other fields. He welcomed more Chinese enterprises and visitors to Kakamega to promote mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
