On December 17, Amb. Guo Haiyan was invited to attend the closing ceremony of the 5th Edition Piny Luo and Migori Cultural Extravaganza. The event was also attended by H.E. President William Ruto, H.E. Governor of Migori Ochilo Ayacko, diplomatic envoys to Kenya, and thousands of local people. Representatives from the governments of some neighboring countries were also present.

  Luo is the 4th largest ethnic group in Kenya. The Festival was held in Migori county and lasted three days starting from December 15. The Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi set up a Chinese booth, where they taught basic Chinese and presented Chinese special performances such as lion dance, martial arts, songs and dances, winning applause among the audience.
