Ambassador Guo Haiyan Attends Jamhuri Day Celebration

  On December 12, H.E. Guo Haiyan, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, attended the Jamhuri Day celebration upon invitation.The ceremony was attended by Kenyan political leaders, representatives from various sectors, diplomatic corps in Kenya, and tens of thousands of Kenyan people. Foreign leaders who were in Nairobi attending the seventh session of the UN Environment Assembly, including the President of Ghana, the Vice President of Burundi, and the Prime Minister of Uganda were also invited to join. President Ruto delivered the keynote speech. The celebration featured a military parade, an aerial display, and conferment of honors, marking the 62nd anniversary of Kenya's independence.

  On December 12, 1963, Kenya officially declared independence from British colonial rule and became a sovereign republic.
