On November 25, the MCEDO Beijing School Donation and Chinese Ambassador Scholarship Award Ceremony was held in Mathare, Nairobi. The event was attended by Ambassador Guo Haiyan, Mr. Yu Xiaodong, Chairman of the Kenya China Economic and Trade Association(KCETA), and around 600 students and teachers of the MCEDO Beijing school.

  In her speech, Ambassador Guo reviewed the assistance and support to the MCEDO school by the Chinese side over the years, commended the achievements of the school in campus building and development. She pointed out that the journey of the MCEDO Beijing School is the epitome of China-Kenya friendly cooperation and the vivid example of profound bond between the two peoples and encouraged the students to grow up to build and carry forward the China-Kenya friendship.

  The Kenyan attendees thanked the Chinese side for the consistent support to the school over the years and stated that they look forward to further deepening China-Kenya educational cooperation to contribute to building the China-Kenya community with a shared future for the new era.  

  The MCEDO Beijing School is a public school at the Mathare constituency, Nairobi. The Chinese embassy and the Chinese enterprises in Kenya have consistently supported the development of the school ever since 2007. The friendship has lasted for 18 years.
