On May 5, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Guo Haiyan met with Hon. Davis Chirchir, Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport of Kenya.

Ambassador Guo Haiyan emphasized that transportation infrastructure remains a priority area for high-quality cooperation between China and Kenya under the Belt and Road Initiative. She noted that China is ready to work with Kenya, guided by the important consensus reached by the two Heads of State, to enhance communication and coordination and to steadily advance bilateral cooperation in this field towards new achievements.

Cabinet Secretary Chirchir welcomed Ambassador Guo's assumption of office and expressed appreciation for China’s long-standing and substantial support for Kenya’s transportation infrastructure development.He affirmed Kenya’s readiness to further deepen cooperation with China and to jointly promote the continued consolidation and development of bilateral relations.
