On April 2, 2025, Ambassador Guo Haiyan was invited to deliver the key-note speech at the Hong Ting Forum: China-Africa Dialogue on the Path to Modernization hosted by the Xinhua News Agency Africa Regional Bureau. Dr. Korir Sing’Oei,Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of Kenya also made remarks. Ambassador Jane Makori, Deputy Director General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, Mr. Ying Qiang, Director General of Xinhua New Agency Africa Regional Bureau, representatives from Kenyan media groups, scholars of international relations as well as representatives of Chinese media groups and companies in Kenya attended the forum.

In her speech, Ambassador Guo Haiyan introduced Chinese modernization and its successful practice, highlighted the key messages of the annual Two Sessions from the perspective of Chinese modernization. She called on China and Kenya to support each other, deepen cooperation in various fields, work together to advance modernization of both countries and make contributions the modernization of the Global South.
