On 3rd March, H.E. Guo Haiyan, Ambassador of China to Kenya met with UNODC Regional Representative for Eastern Africa Ms. Ashita Mittal.

Ms. Mittal congratulated Amb. Guo on her new post, introduced cooperation projects between the UNODC Regional Office of Eastern Africa (ROEA) and eastern Africa countries including Kenya, as well as the challenges in fighting against drug crimes, cyber scamming, money laundering, small arms smuggling, wildlife smuggling, and environmental crimes in this region.

Ambassador Guo said that China and Africa are building an all-weather community with a shared future in the new era. The Embassy would like to work together with the UNODC ROEA on law enforcement capacity building of eastern Africa countries to enhance their response to regional security challenges.
