On 16 January, H.E. Guo Haiyan, Ambassador of China to Kenya paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya.

Ambassador Guo first conveyed to H.E. Mudavadi cordial greetings from H.E. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Foreign Minister, saying that China and Kenya have a time-honored friendship, China always approaches its relationship with Kenya from a strategic and long-term perspective, and is ready to work with Kenya to implement the important consensus of our two leaders and deepen our friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.

H.E. Mudavadi welcomed Ambassador Guo's assumption of office, saying that bilateral relations between Kenya and China have developed strongly and Belt and Road cooperation projects such as the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway have greatly enhanced Kenya's economic development capacity and improved people's well-being. He said that the Kenyan side will actively provide convenience and support for Ambassador Guo to perform her duties and jointly promote bilateral relations to a new level.
