Chinese Embassy Participates in the 7th Nairobi International Cultural Festival

The 7th Nairobi International Cultural Festival was held at Kenyan National Museum on June 8th, attended by foreign diplomats in Kenya and leaders of the Kenyan National Museum. Counselor Wang Xuezheng and other diplomats from the Chinese embassy, together with representatives of the Confucius Institutes at University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University also attended the event.

During the event, the Chinese embassy and Confucius Institutes at University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University jointly presented the Chinese culture from various angles and interacted with the local people. The beautiful Chinese arts and crafts, including handwriting and paper cutting, attracted the attention of many local people and their active participation. Chinese traditional dancing, martial arts and lion dancing performed by the teachers and students of the Confucius Institutes have become the highlight of the cultural performance.

Nairobi International Cultural Festival was initiated in 2013 as one of the biggest international cultural festivals in Kenya. The Festival this year attracted several thousand local people, including those from over ten foreign embassies and cultural institutions in Kenya.
