Kenya Supports China on the Issues of Taiwan, Tibet and Beijing Olympic Games

April 3rd, Nairobi.  Hon. Moses Wetangula, Foreign Minister of Kenya said that Kenya firmly backed China in its position on the issues of Taiwan, Tibet and Beijing Olympic Games. He reiterated the Kenyan Government's position on One China Policy and its support to China's efforts to realize national reunification. He said that Kenya supported the measures taken by the Chinese government to restore peace and stability in Tibet and opposed any attempt to split Tibet from China. The Minister believed that Beijing Olympic Games was the grand gathering of the peoples around the world and any linkage between political issues with the Beijing Olympic Games was wrong and doomed to fail. He further confirmed that Kenya planned to send a high-profile delegation to attend the Games.

The Minister made the above statement when interviewed by the Xinhua News Agency in Nairobi.
