On Dec 19th, 2019, the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), contractors of the Kenyan Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) released the 2018/2019 CSR Report of Kenya SGR Project in Nairobi. Wu Peng, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Lu Shan, Chairman of CRBC, Esther Koimett, Principal Secretary of Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, David Pkosing, Chairperson of the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing attended the report release ceremony and delivered speeches.

Ambassador Wu said that as the SGR continues to expand westward, passenger and freight transport has brought more tangible benefits to local people along the route. Chinese companies are not only builders and operators of Kenya's SGR, but also partners and supporters of Kenya's sustainable development. We hope that Chinese enterprises in Kenya will operate in good faith and pay taxes in accordance with the law, so as to make greater contribution to deepening China-Kenya practical cooperation.

Koimett said that Chinese companies have not only demonstrated strong infrastructure construction capabilities, but also played a positive role in social welfare. She highly appreciated the friendly cooperative relations between the governments and enterprises of China and Kenya and hoped that both sides would further strengthen communication and exchanges in the future and achieve win-win cooperation.
