Notice on the Additional Requirements for the Health Code Applications For All China-bound Passengers

In view of the global epidemic situation of Covid-19, from 6th Sep, the updated additional requirements for the Health Declaration Form(QR Code with "HDC" mark, hereinafter referred to as "Health code") for China-bound passengers from Kenya are as follows:

 

1. Passengers who departing from Kenya are required to take one more COVID-19 Nucleic acid test.

Passengers are required to conduct two COVID-19 Nucleic acid tests and one Antibody test (both IgM & IgG) before boarding.

(I)The first Nucleic acid test should be conducted 7 days before the departure date (Date calculator: subtract 7 days from the flight departure date). For example, if passengers plan to take the flight on September 10, they should conduct the first tests on September 03.

(II) The second Nucleic acid test should be conducted within 48 hours before boarding (Date calculator: subtract 2 days from the flight departure date). For example, if passengers plan to take the flight on September 10, they should conduct the second Nucleic acid test as well as IgM & IgG Antibody tests on September 08.

The first and the second Nucleic acid test must be conducted by two different medical institutions. The Chinese Embassy kindly reminds you that the two institutions should among the 6 institutions designated by the Chinese Embassy in Kenya. Cross Consular district tests applications will cause longer-than-usual processing time and the passengers may not get the Health Code in time.

 

2. Passengers are strongly recommended to conduct self- quarantine and personal health monitoring before boarding.

All the passengers are required to conduct personal health monitoring before boarding. Passengers who get negative Nucleic acid test result (The first test is taken 7 days before boarding) are required to conduct personal health monitoring. Passengers are required to fill in the Personal Health Monitoring Form (please find in the attachment) and upload the form while applying for the Health code.

 

3. Passengers who have a history of Covid-19 infection are required to apply for the Health Code at least 3 months after recovery.

Passengers who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection or have been tested positive for Nucleic acid, IgM antibody test (not including positive antibody test caused by vaccination) should truthfully report their infection history and testing results to the Chinese Embassy, and go through the following procedures while applying for the Health code:

(I) Provide medical certificates including Chest CT or X-ray reports (The certificates must indicate that there is no abnormality in the lungs or the person has recovered from COVID-19) issued by the medical institutions regulated by Kenyan Ministry of Health, together with two negative Nucleic acid tests reports at intervals of more than 24 hours from the 6 institutions designated by the Chinese Embassy in Kenya.

(II) After completing the above-mentioned procedure and 3 months after recovery (90 days, starting from the sampling date of the latest test report), passengers could continue the following procedures to apply for the Health Code.

(III) Passengers should conduct the first COVID-19 Nucleic acid test 7 days before boarding, and negative result is required. Moreover, please conduct self-monitoring and record your health status to the required form.

(IV) Passengers should conduct Nucleic acid and IgM antibody tests within 48 hours before boarding and both test results should be negative.

(V) Women who are pregnant and the children aged no more than 14 years old are not required to take a Chest CT or X-ray.

 

The notice will be effective from 6th Sep, 2021. Passengers whose flights are after (on) September 06, 2021, should meet the above requirements.
