The Chinese Visa Application Service Facility (CVASF) in Nairobi will open on 15 October 2015. All ordinary passport holders wishing to visit China's mainland are requested to apply for visas at CVASF. CVASF will have a test run between 12 October and 14 October and does not charge service fees. Visa applicants are suggested go to CVASF to apply for Chinese visa.

Office hours: Monday to Friday, except public holidays

Submission of applications: 8:00 am-3:00 pm (Urgent applications should be submitted before 11:00 a.m.)

Collection and payment: 8:00 am-3:30 pm (Urgent visas should be picked up after 11:00 a.m.)

CVASF Service Charges:

After the opening of CVASF, holders of diplomatic or service (official) passport, or applicants qualified for the Chinese diplomatic, courtesy, service visas, or applicants applying for Hong Kong SAR or Macao SAR visa/entry permit may still submit their applications directly to the Chinese Embassy (Submission of applications: 9:30-11:30, Monday, Wednesday, Friday).

Visa Appointment System of the Chinese Embassy will be closed since 1 November. Those who have appointed to submit visa applications from 15 to 31 October, please go to CVASF with printed appointment slip to apply for Chinese visas. Those who have appointed to submit visa applications from 6 to 14 October, can still go to the consular hall of the Chinese Embassy to apply for Chinese visas.
